Job description

Summary

We are looking for an experienced BI professional to join our Data & Analytics department.

Job Description
What will you do

Our D&A journey has resulted in something we are proud of: a centralized, state-of-the-art Microsoft Fabric and Power BI architecture, grounded in standardization, governance, security, and best practices across data engineering, modelling, and dashboarding.

This role is about the next chapter. We are in the early stages of onboarding new use cases onto the platform and are looking for someone who can grasp the fundamentals of our set‑up and put them to use: engaging stakeholders, building trusted relationships, understanding the needs behind requests, developing and delivering scalable productionized data products, driving adoption, and making end‑user reporting more efficient.

Day to day, you will:

  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders across the bank, gathering business requirements by understanding their analytical needs;
  • Translate business requirements into centralized, sustainable, and scalable BI solutions;
  • Assess, maintain, and improve local Power BI solutions across the bank, including legacy data models and dashboards, by centralizing and aligning them with established Microsoft Fabric and BI standards where needed;
  • Migrate SAP Business Objects solutions to Power BI/Fabric;
  • Design, develop, and maintain semantic models, dashboards, and self‑service analytics solutions aligned with our Microsoft Fabric and Power BI principles and standards, including workspace administration, app publishing, deployment pipelines, access management, and content lifecycle management;
  • Act as a trusted advisor within the BI community by mentoring and coaching business users on Microsoft Fabric and Power BI best practices;
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our BI landscape, governance, security, and development standards by ensuring Power BI and Fabric solutions are secure, compliant, and aligned with NIBC's established development practices, including DTAP, user acceptance testing, and CI/CD deployment processes.
What’s in it for you?
  • Several ways to support your development personally and professionally, a.o.: personal development budget to spend at your own discretion, professional budget provided by your manager to develop yourself in your work, In‑house learning offering;
  • NIBC embraces the Hybrid way of Working. This means that we support working from home as well as encourage our colleagues to come to the office. NIBC's guideline is to spend at least half of the working time at the office;
  • Travel expenses or NS Business Card 1st class;
  • 32 holidays (which do not have to be registered);
  • Excellent pension scheme (26% NIBC contribution);
  • A voucher to improve your home office;
  • The opportunity to take ownership and show initiative in your role. We are always open to new ideas, and encourage to use your voice;
  • The nature of our Grow to Make a Difference program enables you to be in charge of your own development;
  • Two staff associations: YoungNIBC and MyLeisure;
  • Vitality program, annual company‑wide sports & leisure days;
  • Monthly internet allowance;
  • Laptop and a company phone;
  • Excellent facilities at the office (Coffee corner, Restaurant, Exchange bar);
  • Last but not least, a fun workplace in which diversity and inclusion is valued.
What do you bring?
  • Minimum 4 years of proven experience as a BI Engineer, Power BI Developer, Business Intelligence Specialist, or similar role, with strong expertise in Power BI, including:
  • Semantic modelling and dimensional modelling;
  • SQL, Python, and advanced DAX programming;
  • Data visualization and dashboard design;
  • Self‑service BI enablement;
  • Power BI Service administration and management, including workspace management, app publishing, deployment pipelines and rules, access management, and content lifecycle management;
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Fabric fundamentals, architecture, components, and artefacts such as Dataflow Gen2 for data ingestion, Pipelines for data orchestration, Python/PySpark Notebooks for data transformations, and OneLake security;
  • Experience using Microsoft Fabric to build and extend data and reporting products within an established enterprise architecture;
  • Proven ability to translate broad business objectives into tangible, scalable BI deliverables while balancing stakeholder expectations, priorities, and technical feasibility;
  • Proven experience managing stakeholders and delivering BI initiatives across multiple business domains;
  • Experience mentoring, coaching, and supporting both technical and non‑technical business users in adopting Power BI and Fabric;
  • Experience working with BI governance frameworks, development standards, security principles, and controlled delivery processes;
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and operating within established incident, problem, and change management processes.
Nice to have
