Job summary

The College Hotel, Autograph Collection by Marriott, in Amsterdam is seeking a passionate Sous Chef to support the Head Chef and lead the kitchen team for The Dean Restaurant and Bar & Bistro.

You will actively cook, mentor students, and drive daily operations while delivering an exceptional guest experience in a dynamic, international setting.

Qualifications

• Experience as Sous Chef in hospitality or restaurant settings.
• Proven leadership and team-development skills.
• Creative menu development and seasonal product ideation.
• Strong organizational ability to manage kitchen operations and costs.
• Solid knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Support the Head Chef in leading, coaching, and developing the kitchen team and students.
• Actively work in the kitchen of both The Dean Restaurant and the Bar & Bistro.
• Ensure the smooth running of daily operations according to our brand and service standards.
• Collaborate with other departments to deliver a flawless guest experience.
• Oversee food quality, HACCP guidelines, inventory management, and cost efficiency.
• Contribute to menu development with creative ideas and seasonal products.
• Motivate the team/students to create a true “WOW experience” for our guests every day.
