Job summary

Mövenpick Amsterdam is seeking a Banqueting Operations Supervisor to oversee conferences, events and meetings, ensuring guests receive outstanding service. You lead the in-house team, coordinate room setups and service, and work closely with the venue partner to deliver seamless events for guests from around the world.

With a background in hospitality or events, you train colleagues, handle complaints, welcome guests, and adapt to changing setups.

Qualifications

• Relevant background in hospitality or events.
• Fluent written and spoken knowledge of the English language, and preferably the Dutch language as well.

Responsibilities

• Supervising and training the employees.
• Preparing and/or cleaning up the meeting rooms.
• Welcoming guests and making them feel at home. Good service is number one.
• Making adjustments to the rooms during or shortly before use.
• Giving correct information about drinks and dishes and serving them properly.
• Taking drink orders and engaging with guests about their visit to Amsterdam.

A unique opportunity to work as a Banqueting Operations Supervisor to provide conferences, events and meetings with guests from all over the world. Today on the schedule: a meeting of 15 people, a meeting with lunch of 20 people and a meeting of 30 people. An ongoing day for you and with your colleagues you make sure the guests have a good time with us. If your colleague cannot solve a complain, you jump in to help. You train external or internal team members and make sure that the shift runs smoothly.

About

You don't just take the order or help the guests; you go the extra mile. "Would you like ice cubes in your Coke or a piece of lime? Would you like a lovely piece of cake with your cup of coffee, or would you like a glass of wine with a dish? These are questions you ask, and you immediately feel if the guest needs them or not. You proudly talk about local products and take time for each guest despite the crowds. There are no limits to your abilities.

In addition, you will be:

• Involved in complex questions, complaints or feedback from our guests.
• Responsible for supervising and training the employees.
• Preparing and/or cleaning up the meeting rooms.
• Responsible for welcoming guests and making them feel at home. Good service is number one.
• Making desired adjustments to the rooms during or shortly before use.
• Giving correct information about the drinks and dishes and serving them in the right way.
• Making drinks and taking orders. You are also willing to have a chat with our guests about their visit to Amsterdam for example.

• A monthly gross salary of between €2.645 and €3.289 in accordance with scale 6 of the Collective Labour Agreement for the Dutch hospitality and catering industry.
• A contract of 38 hours per week.
