Job summary

Nederlandse Spoorwegen is seeking a Backend Developer to build and maintain scalable backend services for the NS app. You will work in a multidisciplinary DevOps team, responsible for delivering high-quality, proactive services to passengers while embracing DevOps practices and new technologies.

You’ll join a head-office based team near Utrecht Central Station, with the flexibility to work from home in a hybrid setup.

Qualifications

• Higher professional education level (Dutch HBO level) or equivalent.
• Experience developing serverless applications on AWS and deploying with CDK.
• Willing to learn other tech stacks and expand knowledge.
• Enthusiastic, responsible and collaborative.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services in TypeScript, deployed on AWS.
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions with cross-functional partners.
• Write structured, clean code and address technical debt and security issues.
• Improve quality, reliability and robustness through test-driven development and monitoring.
• Share knowledge and stay updated with latest backend technologies.
