SMART Photonics in the Netherlands seeks a Process Engineer - Back End to oversee the final wafer steps with a calm, focused approach and clear communication to meet tight delivery timelines. You will own backend processes including cleaving, grinding, polishing, and visual inspection, and work with partners to drive yield improvements and on-time deliveries in a fast-moving, high-tech environment.

A MSc in Engineering or Applied Physics and hands-on experience are required; visa-free employment

Qualifications

MSc degree in Engineering, Applied Physics, or similar technical field.
Hands-on experience with cleaving, grinding and polishing.
Calm under pressure, execution-driven with clear communication.
Direct employment without visa; we cannot provide visa sponsorship.

Responsabilités

Own and optimize backend semiconductor/photonics processes including cleaving, grinding, polishing, dicing, visual inspections and active/passive alignment.
Work with external stakeholders; close alignment with partners and their processes is essential.
Deliver reporting and analysis such as SPC charts, performance, yield trends, defect density, and process stability.
Drive yield improvement, scrap reduction, and cycle time optimization initiatives.
Bridge seniority levels and cultures with clear communication across teams.
Support long-term stability and high-quality deliveries and mature the process.
