Job summary

Doghouse Recruitment is seeking an Azure Security Engineer to drive security maturity in a mission-critical, multi-tenant Azure environment for a highly regulated asset management client.

You will own end-to-end security architecture, focusing on Entra ID, Sentinel, Defender for Cloud, and IaC with Terraform, Azure DevOps, and Kubernetes. Expect to work with senior engineers in a fast-moving culture that prizes ownership and automation.

Qualifications

Job description

My client is looking for an Azure Security Engineer to be the driving force behind maturing security in one of their most mission-critical environments. This isn't about just keeping the lights on; it's about owning security, bringing a vision, and building structural, automated solutions that go far beyond the bare minimum. You will be the expert on Entra ID, Sentinel, and Defender for Cloud, strengthening security operations, maturing identity and access management, and looking ahead to challenges like software supply chain protection.

You will join a rapidly expanding team (growing to 50+ engineers) to deliver the "biggest and baddest" project in their history: a multi-tenant Azure environment for a highly regulated asset management client. The team consists of highly senior, T-shaped engineers who operate as a "hive mind" with a culture of "engineering anarchy," where end-to-end ownership and intrinsic motivation are paramount. While your initial focus will be heavily on security, you are first and foremost an engineer who understands the full picture, from Terraform and Azure DevOps to Kubernetes. The impact of your work will be immense, securing platforms that millions of people in the Netherlands depend on.

Your profile:

• A strong engineering background in the Azure ecosystem, with a clear specialization and passion for security.
• High-level knowledge of Entra ID and its ecosystem. You need to know this from front to back.
• Hands-on experience with Azure Sentinel and Defender for Cloud is essential.
• Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code, specifically Terraform.
• A solid understanding of core engineering fundamentals, including networking, databases, and scripting (e.g., PowerShell).
