Cognizant is seeking an Azure Data Architect to design and deliver enterprise-grade reporting and analytics in a complex financial services environment in Amsterdam. You will shape data strategies, model architectures, and analytics platforms that inform regulatory decisions and business performance.

In this role you will collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and cross-functional teams to transform raw data into insights.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience with Azure Databricks, ADF, and Azure Synapse in real projects.
• Proficient in data modeling, Star/Snowflake schemas, and BI reporting.
• Experience delivering enterprise analytics and regulatory reporting.

Responsabilidades

• Design enterprise data models (Star/Snowflake) for scalable reporting.
• Build and maintain Azure Synapse-based data solutions (ELT, T-SQL).
• Develop Power BI reports, dashboards, DAX, and tabular models/cubes.
• Collaborate with Product Owners and Analysts to translate requirements.
• Maintain centralized reporting environments (SSRS, Tableau).

Azure Data Architect

About Role:

As a Azure Data Architect, you will make an impact by designing and delivering enterprise-grade reporting and analytics solutions that support critical business and regulatory decision-making within a complex financial services environment. You will be a valued member of the banking technology team, working collaboratively with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and cross-functional stakeholders to transform raw data into strategic insights that drive decisions at scale.

This is not just a technical role - it is a high-impact position where your expertise in semantic layers, and cloud-native analytics will directly shape how the business understands and acts on its data. You will operate at the intersection of data engineering and business intelligence, supporting regulatory reporting, performance analytics, and enterprise data quality across multiple applications.

How You Will Make an Impact

• Design and develop enterprise data models using Star Schema (preferred) and Snowflake Schema approaches that form the backbone of scalable, high-quality reporting solutions
• Build and maintain Azure Synapse Analytics-based data solutions, including ELT and T-SQL data transformation processes that ensure reliable data flow from source to insight
• Develop rich Power BI reports, dashboards, DAX calculations, and tabular models/cubes that translate complex business requirements into intuitive, decision‑ready visuals
• Collaborate closely with Product Owners and Business Analysts to capture and convert reporting requirements into scalable data products across multiple banking applications
• Maintain and support centralized reporting environments, including SSRS and Tableau solutions, ensuring data quality and consistency across the full analytics landscape

Requirements

What You Must Have

• Data architect with good experience in Azure, cloud and ETL data solutions
• Strong experience in Azure databricks, ADF, Azure SQL (also hands on).
• Knowledge and some working experience in Pyspark (optional)
• Good communication skills
• Databricks or Azure Synapse used in an actual project, and not only listed under skills. For Databricks we would look for PySpark and Delta Lake, and for Synapse, SQL pools and pipelines.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or an equivalent field
