Job summary

Accenture NL in Amsterdam is seeking experienced Azure Cloud Engineers/Architects to design secure, scalable cloud platforms and landing zones for enterprise clients, combining hands-on engineering depth with architectural thinking.

You will translate client needs into practical roadmaps, implement IaC with Terraform/Bicep, manage CI/CD pipelines, lead migrations, mentor engineers, and travel within the Netherlands to client sites as required.

Qualifications

• Education as stated: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or equivalent.
• Significant hands-on experience designing, building or transforming Microsoft Azure environments in complex enterprises.
• Strong knowledge of landing zones, subscriptions, identity management, networking, security and governance.
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to collaborate with stakeholders and advise clients.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver secure, scalable Azure platforms and landing zones aligned with enterprise architecture and compliance.
• Translate client needs into practical cloud architectures, roadmaps and implementation plans.
• Build and automate cloud infrastructure using IaC (Terraform/Bicep) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Lead or support cloud migration and modernization across infrastructure, identity, networking, security and operations.
• Engage with client stakeholders and multidisciplinary delivery teams to provide technical direction.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to platform engineering capability development within IIS.

At Accenture the Netherlands, we are seeking Azure Cloud Engineers / Architects who combine hands-on engineering depth, architectural thinking and strong client-facing skills to deliver cloud transformation at scale.

What you'll do:

• Design and deliver secure, scalable Azure platforms and landing zones aligned with enterprise architecture, security and compliance requirements.
• Translate client needs into practical cloud architectures, technical roadmaps and implementation plans.
• Build and automate cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code, including Terraform or Bicep, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Lead or support cloud migration and modernisation activities across infrastructure, identity, networking, security and operations.
• Work directly with client stakeholders and multidisciplinary delivery teams, providing technical direction, clear communication and pragmatic decision-making.
• Mentor engineers, promote reusable engineering standards and contribute to Azure and platform-engineering capability development within Intelligent Infrastructure Services.
• Travel to client locations within the Netherlands when required for workshops, delivery and stakeholder engagement.

You will work in a multidisciplinary team of cloud engineers, architects, security specialists, network specialists, consultants and project leads. Together, you will solve complex infrastructure challenges and deliver measurable outcomes for clients.

What we’re looking for:

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a comparable field, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
• Experience: Significant hands‑on experience designing, building or transforming Microsoft Azure environments in complex enterprise settings.
• Skills: Strong knowledge of landing zones, subscriptions and management groups, identity and access management, networking, security, governance, monitoring and resilience. Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code and DevOps practices, preferably Terraform and/or Bicep, Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions, and scripting such as PowerShell or Python.
• Leadership: Strong stakeholder management, structured communication and collaboration skills, with the confidence to advise and challenge clients constructively.
• Language: Professional English is required. Dutch language capability is strongly preferred for Netherlands-based and public‑sector client environments.
• Mobility: Willingness to travel to client sites within the Netherlands as part of this client‑facing role.

Bonus points for:

• Microsoft certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Network Engineer Associate, Azure Security Engineer Associate or DevOps Engineer Expert.
• Experience with Kubernetes or Red Hat OpenShift, hybrid cloud, sovereign cloud, cloud migration factories or platform product models.
• Experience in regulated industries, public‑sector environments or large‑scale transformation programmes.
• Knowledge of FinOps, cloud operating models, site reliability engineering or service‑management integration.
