Job summary

Nordson Industrial Coating Solutions in Geleen, Netherlands, seeks an Associate Commercial Lab Engineer to support testing activities in the European demonstration center. You will help with equipment setup, test execution, documentation, and customer demonstrations under supervision.

You'll collaborate with engineering, sales and applications teams, maintain the lab, and contribute to training sessions while developing product knowledge across NordsonICS offerings.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in engineering or a related technical field.
• 0–2 years of experience in a technical, laboratory, manufacturing, service, engineering, or customer-support environment.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to document technical information accurately and consistently.
• Good communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and customer-facing personnel.
• English language skills required; German or additional European language skills are considered an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Support customer tests and demonstrations in the European demonstration center, under supervision.
• Assist with preparation, setup, operation, and clean-up of lab equipment for defined test scenarios.
• Follow established safety procedures and laboratory standards when working with equipment, materials, hand tools, power tools, and electrical systems.
• Document test conditions, observations, results, equipment settings, and relevant technical details accurately and consistently.
• Coordinate with senior colleagues, engineering, sales and application specialists to understand test objectives and priorities.
• Help maintain the lab in a clean, organized, safe, and audit-ready condition.
• Execute basic maintenance tasks on the lab and demo equipment.
• Conduct basic training sessions for both internal teams and external customers
• Assist with tracking lab supplies, consumables, tools, and equipment readiness, escalating needs for replenishment or maintenance.
• Contribute to basic troubleshooting and problem-solving during tests, escalating complex issues as appropriate.
• Develop product and application knowledge across relevant NordsonICS product lines.
• Support preparation of test summaries, customer-facing information, and internal updates as requested.

Summary of the role

Travel Occasional travel within Europe may be required to support customer demonstrations, training activities, and business needs.

Skills and Qualifications

• Associate degree, bachelor’s degree, vocational qualification, or equivalent technical training in engineering, mechatronics, electrical, mechanical, industrial, or a related technical discipline preferred.
• 0–2 years of experience in a technical, laboratory, manufacturing, service, engineering, or customer‑support environment.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to document technical information accurately and consistently.
• Good communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams and customer‑facing personnel.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Analytical mindset with basic problem‑solving skills and a willingness to learn new technologies, products, and applications.
• English language skills required; German or additional European language skills are considered an advantage.
• Exposure to automation, electrical systems, robot programming, or powder finishing applications is beneficial but not required.
