Department: Tilburg School of Social and Behavioral Sciences – Methodology and Statistics. Location: Tilburg. Contract size: 1.0 FTE (40 hours per week). Contract duration: 18 months fixed‑term, with prospect of a permanent position. Desired starting date: May 1, 2026.
As an Assistant Professor you will develop your own research activities in line with the department’s research programmes and in collaboration with members of our department and other TSB departments. You will coordinate and teach one or two courses and supervise several bachelor and/or master theses.
As a researcher you will conduct excellent research on novel methods relevant for the social and behavioural sciences. The focus may include, among others, data‑science methods, computational statistics, AI‑related methods for psychological research, Bayesian statistics, statistical methodology, modern psychometrics, or methods for large‑scale, streaming, and high‑dimensional data.
As a lecturer you will teach general and specialist courses in research methods, data science, and applied statistics in various bachelor programmes and masters, including an emerging master in AI for Psychological Research. You will coordinate courses, deliver lectures and tutorials, and supervise research internships and theses. Management duties are also part of the role.
