Job summary

University of Twente in Enschede seeks an Assistant Professor in Integrated Photonics to lead a vibrant research program and teach courses in photonics, optics, physics and nanotechnology. You will supervise Bachelor, Master and PhD students, develop collaborations with industry and academia, and secure funding from national and European programs to advance quantum technologies and optical sensing.

Qualifications

Hold a PhD in a relevant field (Photonics, Physics or Electrical Engineering) and a strong research track record.
Ability to develop an independent and internationally competitive research programme.
Proven ability to attract competitive research funding.
Commitment to high-quality teaching across photonics-related subjects.
Excellent communication skills and proficiency in English.

Responsibilities

Develop an internationally recognized research program on integrated photonics, focusing on nonlinear and optomechanical light–matter interactions.
Teach courses in photonics, optics, physics, nanotechnology and related engineering disciplines.
Develop and innovate educational programmes and course content.
Supervise Bachelor, Master and PhD students and postdocs.
Acquire research funding from national and European programs and promote knowledge transfer.
