Job summary

JBT Marel, based in Lichtenvoorde, Netherlands, is seeking an Assembly Mechanic to join our skilled assembly teams of about 45 colleagues. You will assemble, test and inspect machines and modules according to technical drawings and customer specifications.

You are precise, quality‑minded and enjoy teamwork, with a passion for building high‑quality machines. You will contribute to continuous improvement of assembly processes and ensure safety and environmental standards are met.

Qualifications

• MBO-level technical education in a relevant field such as Mechatronics, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience with assembling mechanical and/or mechatronic modules is an advantage; graduates are welcome.
• Ability to read and apply technical drawings on the shop floor.
• You work accurately with a strong eye for quality.
• You are a team player who enjoys collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Assemble modules and complete machines based on technical drawings and work instructions.
• Ensure timely completion and delivery according to schedules and standard times.
• Perform inspections, checks, adjustments and functional tests during and after assembly.
• Work in accordance with safety, quality and environmental standards.
• Operate tools safely and with certified lifting and transport equipment where applicable.
• Participate in assembly team meetings and contribute to process improvements.

For our location in Lichtenvoorde, the Netherlands, we are looking for an Assembly Mechanic to join one of our assembly teams. Together, these teams form a department of approximately 45 colleagues, where teamwork, craftsmanship and quality are at the heart of everything we do.

As an Assembly Mechanic, you will work on the assembly or refurbishment of innovative machines based on technical drawings and customer specifications. You will play an important role in ensuring the quality of our products!

What you'll be doing!

As an Assembly Mechanic, you will be responsible for assembling, testing and inspecting machines and/or modules in accordance with our quality and safety standards.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Assemble modules and complete machines based on technical drawings and work instructions.
• Ensure timely completion and delivery according to agreed schedules and standard assembly times.
• Perform inspections, checks, adjustments and functional tests during and after assembly.
• Work in accordance with applicable safety, quality and environmental standards.
• Operate tools safely and responsibly, as well as certified lifting and transport equipment where applicable.
• Participate in work meetings within the assembly team.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, manufacturability and the repeatability of machine assembly.
• Proactively report deviations, malfunctions and suggestions for improvement to the Assembly Team Leader, and collaborate with other departments whenever necessary.
• Perform other activities that contribute to efficient and high-quality assembly.

Your profile

• You have completed an MBO-level technical education, such as Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a comparable qualification.
• Experience with, or an affinity for, assembling mechanical and/or mechatronic modules and machines is an advantage. However, we also warmly encourage recently or soon-to-be graduated technical professionals to apply!
• You are able to read and apply technical drawings in your day-to-day work.
• You work accurately and have a strong eye for quality.
• You are a team player who enjoys working collaboratively with colleagues.
