As Architect - MarTech, you shape the technical architecture across a set of strategically important digital domains: marketing technology, customer relations platforms, conversational commerce, content and design tooling, and marketplace integrations.
You connect business needs with scalable technical solutions, ensuring that SaaS platforms, internal services, APIs, data flows, AI-enabled tooling, and third‑party integrations work together coherently across the digital landscape.
This is a hands‑on architecture role. You are expected to understand modern software engineering, APIs, integrations, data structures, cloud‑native delivery, and operational realities well enough to challenge, guide, review, and where needed contribute directly. In short: not an ivory tower architect, but someone who can draw the map and still survive in the jungle.
You are not a gatekeeper, but a facilitator and a steward of sustainable, resilient architectures.
You will join the Digital Architecture & Technology team, a team that works across Digital to shape scalable, secure, and maintainable technology solutions. We partner closely with product teams, engineers, business stakeholders, and external technology partners across areas such as MarTech, Customer Relations, Content & Design, and Marketplaces.
You typically bring 8+ years of experience in software engineering, solution architecture or technical leadership roles, combined with a strong hands‑on background in building, integrating and operating production systems.
You are comfortable working across complex, SaaS‑heavy ecosystems and understand how to extend, configure and integrate vendor platforms while maintaining strong internal architectural ownership.
Key strengths include:
You are confident reviewing technical designs, API contracts, data models and event‑driven architectures, and you can translate complex technical concepts clearly to both engineering teams and business stakeholders.
You also bring experience working with external vendors and implementation partners, while ensuring internal architectural direction and ownership remain strong and consistent.
You bring structure to complex, vendor‑heavy and cross‑domain environments, turning ambiguity into clear, scalable direction. You embed an AI‑first mindset in architectural decision‑making, ensuring platforms, data flows and integrations are designed to support automation, intelligent orchestration and future AI‑enabled capabilities across marketing, content, commerce and customer engagement. You challenge assumptions constructively, balancing ambition with simplicity, maintainability and sound architectural choices. You stay close to implementation where needed to provide meaningful guidance while enabling teams to move fast and independently. You promote reuse, standardisation and clear ownership, actively reducing unnecessary complexity, duplication and fragmented customer data. You work confidently across service, marketing, content, commerce and marketplace domains, ensuring a connected and coherent ecosystem. You create clarity and alignment across teams and partners, thinking in systems, customer journeys, data flows and operational impact.
The role is based primarily in the office 80% of the time (typically four days per week) and 20% from home.
