Job summary

Savile Lloyd Recruitment is seeking an Appointed Person to join a Data Centre project in the Netherlands. You will plan and supervise lifting operations, ensuring compliance with LOLER and health and safety regulations, and produce lift plans and risk assessments.

The role requires strong coordination with site managers, crane operators, and contractors, ensuring documentation is complete on-site before lifts. EU passport desirable; Data Centre experience a plus.

Qualifications

• Plan and assess all lifting operations in accordance with LOLER and health and safety regulations.
• Produce detailed lift plans and method statements, including risk assessments, crane configurations, and ground bearing pressure calculations.
• Liaise with site managers, crane operators, riggers, and contractors to coordinate lifting activities and ensure full understanding of the lift plan.
• Select appropriate lifting equipment and ensure it is properly certified, inspected, and fit for purpose.
• Take overall responsibility for the execution of lifting operations and ensure only competent personnel are involved.
• Ensure all documentation, including permits to lift and crane inspection records, is complete and available on-site before any lifting begins.
• Monitor on-site lifting activities to ensure compliance with the lift plan and intervene if unsafe practices are observed.
• Review and update lifting plans and practices regularly, incorporating lessons learned to improve safety and efficiency on future operations.

Our client is a leading multinational engineering services provider and general contractor who specializes in mission critical turnkey solutions. Employing over 750 professionals and deliver leading-edge construction solutions across a range of key sectors including Data Centre’s, Healthcare, Life Sciences and Technology, Fire protection, Building Services, and Technical Support Services. They are currently looking for Appointed Persons to join them on a Data Centre project in The Netherlands.

You Will Be Responsible For:

• Plan and assess all lifting operations in accordance with LOLER and relevant health and safety regulations, ensuring that each lift is carried out safely and effectively.
• Produce detailed lift plans and method statements, including risk assessments, crane configurations, and ground bearing pressure calculations.
• Liaise with site managers, crane operators, riggers, and contractors to coordinate lifting activities and ensure full understanding of the lift plan.
• Select appropriate lifting equipment and ensure it is properly certified, inspected, and fit for purpose.
• Take overall responsibility for the execution of lifting operations, ensuring that only competent personnel are involved and that operations are carried out to plan.
• Ensure all documentation, including permits to lift and crane inspection records, is complete and available on-site before any lifting begins.
• Monitor on-site lifting activities to ensure compliance with the lift plan, intervening immediately if unsafe practices are observed.
• Review and update lifting plans and practices regularly, incorporating lessons learned and feed back to improve safety and efficiency on future operations.

You Will Need:

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in working on large scale projects.
• Data Centre experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
• An EU passport may not be required but is desirable.
