Job summary

sennder is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to join our ML team. This role blends data science with production ML, working on pricing, forecasting, and recommender systems. You will collaborate with Product Managers, end-users, and Platform Engineers to deploy impactful models.

Based in Amsterdam, with options to base in Berlin or Barcelona, this role emphasizes end-to-end ownership from R&D to production release and monitoring.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in statistical analysis, hypothesis testing, and data exploration.
• Working knowledge of ML approaches for basic regression and classification.
• Experience deploying models to production environments and writing modular code.

Responsibilities

• Pricing Engine Optimization: develop bid estimation and margin models to power pricing engine.
• Carrier Forecasting: build predictive models for carrier behavior and capacity.
• Recommender Systems: maintain and improve recommender systems for daily operations.
• Industry Innovation & Applied ML: explore new ML areas for logistics challenges.
• Product Discovery & Ideation: translate operational pain points into ML hypotheses and prototypes.
• AI & LLM Integration: evaluate trade-offs between LLMs, ML models, or heuristics.
• Platform Collaboration: work with Data & AI Platform to deploy models.
