Job summary

European Tech Recruit is partnering with a leading semiconductor company in Amsterdam to hire an Applied Cryptographer. You will design, analyse, and implement robust cryptographic solutions for cutting-edge hardware and software products.

Responsibilities include developing algorithms, performing formal verification and security proofs, and ensuring integration with hardware and software teams while staying current with PQC and industry best practices.

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field with focus on cryptography.
• Strong expertise across classical, modern, and post-quantum crypto.
• Proven experience implementing cryptographic libraries.
• Experience with formal methods and security proofs.

Applied Cryptographer — Cryptography / Hardware Security

We are partnered with a fast-scaling, next-generation semiconductor company developing cutting-edge hardware and software products. The team is looking to hire an Applied Cryptographer to design, analyse, and implement robust cryptographic solutions securing next-generation products.

This is a permanent, fully onsite opportunity based in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Key responsibilities for this Applied Cryptographer position:

• Design, develop, and implement advanced cryptographic algorithms and protocols.
• Identify and mitigate vulnerabilities in existing and proposed cryptographic solutions.
• Perform formal verification and develop formal security proofs for cryptographic algorithms and protocols.
• Integrate cryptographic solutions into system architectures in close collaboration with hardware and software teams.
• Conduct security audits, code reviews, and security analysis to support compliance with leading security assurance certifications.
• Stay current with the latest cryptographic research, attacks, and industry best practices.

Key requirements:

• Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Computer Engineering, or related discipline with a focus on cryptography.
• Strong expertise across classical, modern, and post-quantum cryptographic algorithms and protocols.
• Proven experience implementing and maintaining cryptographic libraries.
• Demonstrable experience with formal methods, formal verification, and/or formal security proofs.
