Job summary

LegalMike BV in Groningen is seeking a Python Developer to advance our AI assistant used by thousands of legal professionals. You will build agentic workflows, optimize RAG strategies, and implement guardrails for robust, production‑ready output.

You will design AI architecture for LegalMike, migrate RAG flows, collaborate with data engineers on retrieval challenges, and improve latency and reliability. The role requires at least 3 years of Python experience, FastAPI, async programming, and

Qualifications

At least 3 years of experience as a Python Developer.
Strong Python skills including FastAPI, async programming, and type hints.
Based in the Netherlands with hybrid work availability (Groningen office).

Responsibilities

Design and implement agentic AI architecture for LegalMike, including tool calling, planners, and operators.
Work on the further development of the LegalMike UI.
Migrate existing RAG flows to more flexible agent-based setups.
Collaborate with data engineers on RAG and retrieval challenges such as query decomposition, query expansion, and source selection.
Improve retrieval strategies with a focus on quality and reproducibility.
Set up AI evaluations (golden datasets, regression tests) and analyze failure modes.
