Job description

About Invisix

Semiconductor manufacturers can't build what they can't measure. Invisix Measuring Systems is a fast-growing scale-up in the high-tech industry, developing next-generation metrology solutions for the semiconductor sector. We work at the intersection of optics, software, and data.

We're a small team, but the depth of knowledge inside Invisix is anything but small. Our culture is professional and fast-paced, with short communication lines and a strong sense of shared purpose. Everyone here is committed, and everyone knows their work directly contributes to something bigger.

The Role

We're looking for an Application Engineer to turn measurement data from our equipment into results our customers can rely on: data analysis, adapting our methods to new applications and customer-facing technical work amongst others.

You'll work with our customers and our algorithm and software teams. Using customer data, you'll run our analysis workflow from start to finish, judge whether the results make physical sense, and feed what you learn back into the development of new methods. When existing methods fall short, you'll prototype a solution yourself, often against a tight deadline. You'll also bring technical input to customer meetings and visit customer sites around once a quarter.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze measurement data to extract meaningful insights for our customers' applications
  • Run our analysis workflow end to end, applying and adapting existing algorithm and software components to new customer applications
  • Use HPC resources to process large datasets efficiently, and write code that runs well there when needed
  • Judge whether results are physically sensible, and feed findings back to the algorithm and software teams to help guide new methods
  • Prototype solutions quickly under tight deadlines when existing methods fall short
  • Contribute technical input to customer-facing application work, in and around customer meetings
  • Travel internationally to customer sites on an occasional basis, roughly once a quarter
Is this you?
  • PhD (or Master's plus comparable experience) in physics, mathematics, computer science, engineering, or a related quantitative field
  • Experience turning real, noisy data into reliable results, for example through physical modelling or computer vision, and the intuition to tell when a model matches reality
  • Current, hands‑on Python experience, writing code that also runs well on HPC resources through parallelization
  • Fluent in English and willing to travel internationally on an occasional basis
  • Active use of AI tooling in your daily work (coding, data analysis, prototyping, documentation) to boost efficiency
Nice to have
  • A background in semiconductor metrology, semiconductor processes or another measurement‑heavy field (e.g. scientific instruments, medical imaging)
  • Experience with machine learning, numerical methods or advanced data analysis
What We Offer
  • A role at the heart of Invisix's customer applications, with a direct influence on how our methods develop
  • Competitive salary and benefits, including an Employee Share Ownership Plan
  • A learning and development budget to support your growth
  • Flexible working arrangements, and room to grow into adjacent responsibilities as the team scales
Diversity & Inclusion

We're committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace, where ideas and individuals flourish. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and judge candidates on merit and potential contribution, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, age, religion, disability, or other identity characteristics. What we're looking for is talent with integrity, a collaborative mindset, and a drive to make an impact.
