Job summary

University Medical Center Groningen is recruiting an ANIOS physician for the Department of Anesthesiology in Groningen, the Netherlands. The position is a one-year contract for 0.8-1.0 FTE (36-46 hours per week) with a published gross monthly salary of €4,642-€6,393 under CAO UMC scale 11A depending on experience.

After induction, the physician works across outpatient and preoperative assessment pathways, consultations, PACU and operating room.

Qualifications

Job description

University Medical Center Groningen is recruiting an ANIOS physician for the Department of Anesthesiology in Groningen, the Netherlands. This is a physician position that is not itself a specialist-training appointment. The advertised arrangement is a one-year contract for 0.8-1.0 FTE, corresponding to 36-46 hours per week, with a published gross monthly salary of €4,642-€6,393 under CAO UMC scale 11A depending on experience.

After an induction period, the physician works across the anesthesiology outpatient and preoperative assessment pathway, clinical consultations, the Holding/Post-Anesthesia Care Unit and the operating room. The position combines patient assessment, supervised procedures, operating-room learning, teaching participation, portfolio development and mentoring.

• Assess patients who are scheduled for surgery, review their current health situation, help determine the preferred anesthetic approach and provide information.
• Work with a staff member on preoperative assessments for emergency inpatients.
• Place peripheral and central lines in the Holding/PACU as described by the vacancy.
• Develop airway-management and haemodynamic-monitoring skills under direct anesthesiologist supervision.
• Participate in selected teaching activities, maintain a personal portfolio and review progress with an assigned mentor.
