Job summary

HAL Allergy in Leiden seeks a Scientist Analytical Development to develop and validate analytical methods, lead technology transfer to Quality Control, and guide a small lab team. You will combine hands-on assays with scientific leadership to advance analytical capabilities supporting product quality and regulatory compliance.

You will manage projects across QA, QC, Process Development, and Regulatory Affairs, staying current with regulatory changes and innovations in analytical science.

Qualifications

  • MSc degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related scientific discipline.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical product development.
  • Hands-on experience with analytical techniques including ELISA, SDS-PAGE, chromatography, immunoblotting, and protein determination.
  • Experience with analytical method development, optimization, and technology transfer to Quality Control.
  • Knowledge of GMP and pharmaceutical quality systems.
  • Strong scientific writing and reporting skills and excellent communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

  • Developing, optimizing, and implementing analytical methods for new and existing products.
  • Leading technology transfer activities from Analytical Development to Quality Control laboratories.
  • Acting as a subject matter expert for analytical methods and providing scientific guidance across the organization.
  • Performing and overseeing biochemical and immunological assays such as ELISA, SDS-PAGE, protein determination, immunoblotting, potency assays, and chromatography-based techniques.
  • Coaching and guiding a small team of laboratory technicians.
  • Participating in multidisciplinary project teams and contributing to the development and improvement of products and processes.
  • Ensuring analytical methods meet regulatory and GMP requirements.
  • Preparing study plans, scientific reports, and project documentation.
  • Managing Analytical Development projects and aligning stakeholders across QA, QC, Process Development, and Regulatory Affairs.
  • Monitoring scientific and compendial developments to ensure continued compliance and innovation.
