As Market Intelligence Analyst, you will help shape strategic decision-making and reinforce the company’s market leadership by providing high-quality market intelligence. You will generate actionable insights, spot emerging trends, evaluate their strategic implications and formulate recommendations that support commercial decisions, business development and long-term strategy. Working closely with stakeholders throughout the organisation, you will make sure they receive timely, relevant information for commercial decision-making, strategy development and business planning. The role blends strong analytical capability with clear communication and collaboration, deepening the organisation’s understanding of the market and helping position the company for success. You will report directly to the Director Market Intelligence.

Key responsibilities

  • Take ownership of market intelligence for designated product portfolios (e.g. Chemicals or Gas & New Energies), acting as the main intelligence partner for Commercial, Business Development and Strategy stakeholders. The portfolio will be assigned based on your profile and experience.

  • Build and sustain in-depth knowledge of the market dynamics, value chains and competitive landscape specific to your portfolio.

  • Track, analyse and interpret market developments, supply and demand fundamentals, competitor activity, regulatory changes and macroeconomic trends relevant to the company’s business and growth strategy.

  • Produce actionable market insights and outlooks by drawing on market studies, industry subscriptions, conferences, stakeholder conversations, desk research and professional networks.

  • Evaluate how market developments affect the company’s commercial performance, investment opportunities and strategic positioning, and provide stakeholders with clear recommendations.

  • Support Business Development through market assessments, opportunity screening, customer and competitor analysis, strategic due diligence and the evaluation of growth opportunities.

  • Prepare and deliver both recurring and ad-hoc intelligence products, such as market outlooks, portfolio reviews, competitive assessments and executive briefings.

  • Work with the Commercial, Business Development and Strategy teams to define intelligence needs and turn business questions into actionable analyses.

  • Create, maintain and continuously enhance market intelligence dashboards, databases, knowledge repositories and reporting tools that enable data-driven decision-making.

  • Share findings and recommendations with stakeholders across the organisation through workshops, market update sessions, deep dives and management presentations.

  • Develop and maintain an external network of industry players, customers, consultants, analysts and other market experts to strengthen the company’s market knowledge and intelligence capabilities.

  • Contribute actively to knowledge sharing across regions and portfolios, making sure market intelligence activities are aligned, coordinated and leveraged globally.

  • o Assessing how specific trends affect individual terminals.

  • o Evaluating the potential impact of European refinery closures on the ARA business.

  • o Proactively flagging relevant market developments to management.

  • Proactive mindset: able to identify and share relevant insights independently, and committed to continuously developing the function in line with market developments.

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to understand and process large volumes of data.

  • Detail-oriented, ensuring accurate data analysis.

  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder influencing skills.
