Job summary

StarIC in Utrecht seeks Analog and Mixed-Signal Design Engineers to push the boundaries of IC design in a collaborative, hybrid-work environment. You will work with layout, digital, and system teams to optimize cutting-edge analog and mixed-signal circuits and engage clients to showcase your designs.

Ideal candidates hold a Masters or PhD in Electrical Engineering with an IC focus, have 3+ years of design experience, and are proficient in MATLAB/Simulink and Python.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of IC design experience.
• Proven experience with CTLE, DFE, ADC, DAC, oscillators, PLLs.
• Experience with SerDes or high‑speed circuit design (>10GS/s).
• SOI or FinFET process knowledge is a plus.
• Scripting and tools like MATLAB/Simulink and Python.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with layout, digital, and system teams to optimize designs.
• Engage with clients through discussions and presentations to align IC design directions.
• Contribute to multiple IC tapeouts with measured results.

Qualifications We’re Seeking

• Education: Minimum of a Masters or PhD in Electrical Engineering with a focus on IC design.
• Experience: 3+ years of design experience, including knowledge of CTLE, DFE, ADC, DAC, oscillators, PLLs, and more.
• SerDes/High-Speed Expertise: If you’ve tackled a SerDes or high-speed circuit design (>10GS/s), that’s a significant asset.
• Silicon Proven: Multiple silicon designs taped out with measured results? You’re our kind of engineer.
• SOI or FinFet Know-How: Experience in SOI or FinFet process nodes? Even better.
• Coding Skills: Comfortable with scripting, programming, and tools like MATLAB/Simulink and Python.
• Team Player: Excellent communication, presentation skills, and a strong team player.
• Location: Strong preference for those eligible to work within Canada.
