Job summary

Exter B.V. is seeking an All-Round Mechanical Technician to troubleshoot malfunctions and investigate efficiency improvements across our factory processes.

You will work independently, identify causes, and implement technical improvements in a dynamic production environment. Responsibilities include preventive and corrective maintenance, root-cause analysis of rotating equipment, and on-call support roughly every four weeks.

Qualifications

• What you bring to the table includes a completed technical MBO or equivalent in mechanical domains.
• Experience with mechanical maintenance in a production environment and knowledge of rotating equipment.
• Ability to analyze malfunctions and resolve them in a structured manner.
• Good communication withTechnical Services and Production teams.
• Willingness to participate in an on-call schedule.

Job description

Do you want to not only troubleshoot malfunctions but also investigate how machines can operate more efficiently and reliably on a structural level? As an All-Round Mechanical Technician at Exter, you’ll have the freedom to work independently, identify the causes of malfunctions, and propose and implement technical improvements. We’re looking for a technician with a strong mechanical background and knowledge of electrical engineering who will work with us to make our factory increasingly reliable and efficient.

At Exter, you won’t just be handed a work order. We expect you to think proactively, investigate the causes of malfunctions, and suggest improvements. In fact, we’ll also give you the freedom to actually implement those improvements.

As an All-Around Mechanical Technician, you’ll be assigned a wide range of tasks within our “factory kitchen” and provide technical support for the production process. You’ll work in a diverse production environment that includes mixing, grinding, drying, packaging, and processing equipment.

• You’ll perform preventive and corrective maintenance.
• You’ll analyze and resolve mechanical and electrical malfunctions.
• You’ll investigate the root causes of recurring malfunctions.
• You’ll propose technical improvements and help implement them.
• You’ll test and evaluate new machines and equipment.
• You’ll contribute to technical projects and modifications to existing systems.

In short, together with your colleagues, you’ll ensure that our production processes run as smoothly as possible through optimal maintenance and expert troubleshooting of malfunctions in our production equipment.

In addition, you’ll be part of an on-call schedule (approximately once every four weeks).

Your profile

What you bring to the table

• A completed technical MBO program, such as Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Industrial Maintenance Technology.
• Experience with mechanical maintenance in a production environment.
• Knowledge of rotating equipment, such as pumps, motors, and gearboxes.
• You can analyze technical malfunctions and resolve them in a structured manner.
• You communicate easily with colleagues in Technical Services and Production.
• You are willing to work on the on-call schedule.

A Plus

• Experience in the food industry.
• Knowledge of electrical engineering.
• Experience with RCA or other methods of failure analysis.
• Relevant certifications, such as VCA, NEN 3140, or equivalent.
