MSF AI Accelerator Programme

MSF has launched a 3‑year AI Accelerator Programme to unlock the value of artificial intelligence across the organisation. The programme aims to deliver shared, high‑impact solutions; strengthen AI literacy and internal capabilities; and ensure that innovation aligns with MSF’s humanitarian principles. It is an organisation‑wide effort, bringing together a hybrid team of technical specialists, internal developers, and external experts to build tools that directly support MSF’s medical and operational work in more than 70 countries.

Job Objective

As AI Solutions Team Lead r, you will be at the forefront of shaping how AI is used within MSF. Working closely with the Programme Manager and Business Analyst, you will lead a small virtual/hybrid team of developers to build scalable, secure, and ethically responsible AI tools.

This role is an opportunity to apply your technical expertise in a context where the impact is far-reaching: your work will help strengthen humanitarian action and support MSF’s ability to deliver medical care where it’s needed most. You will also contribute to defining MSF’s AI platform, toolbox, and long‑term technical strategy. The role can be based anywhere, with a preference for time zones close to UTC (CET, WAT, CAT).

  • Ensure appropriate solution documentation (including code and platform architecture) as well as security and privacy compliance is produced and maintained.
  • Establish a robust product management lifecycle approach following CI/CD for AI prototypes and solutions within the AI Accelerator Programme, and more widely across MSF.
  • Support the Programme Manager in driving and enabling AI adoption across the organization as a recognized technical expert and thought leader.
