Job summary

Oliver James Associates Ltd. is seeking an experienced AI Engineer to design, build and deploy AI and ML solutions that directly improve critical infrastructure and energy operations.

You will work across data preparation, model development, deployment and monitoring, ensuring scalable, secure and production-ready outcomes. You will leverage Python, cloud platforms, LLMs and modern AI frameworks, collaborating with data engineers, software engineers and stakeholders to deliver tangible business

Qualifications

• This is an experienced AI Engineering position. You should already have several years of professional experience building and implementing AI or Machine Learning solutions.
• 3+ years of professional experience in AI Engineering, Machine Learning Engineering, Data Science with a strong engineering focus, or a comparable role.
• Strong hands-on experience with Python.
• Proven experience developing and implementing Machine Learning or AI solutions.
• Experience taking AI/ML solutions from PoC to production.
• Experience with APIs, software development practices and version control.
• Experience working with cloud environments, preferably Microsoft Azure.
• Understanding of MLOps, CI/CD, model deployment and monitoring.
• Experience with modern AI technologies such as Generative AI, LLMs, NLP or Computer Vision is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles and writing maintainable, testable code.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary Agile teams.
• The ability to communicate effective with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Continuously investigate new AI developments and determine where emerging technologies can add real value.

We are looking for someone who already has solid professional experience in AI/ML engineering and knows how to take models and AI solutions beyond experimentation and into production.

The Role

As an AI Engineer, you will work at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence, software engineering, data and cloud technology. You will help design, develop and implement AI solutions that support smarter decision-making, improve operational processes and enable the organisation to work more efficiently with its data. You will be involved throughout the AI lifecycle: from understanding the business problem and preparing data, through model development and experimentation, to deployment, monitoring and continuous improvement. Your work will have a strong focus on creating AI solutions that are scalable, maintainable, secure and production-ready.
