Job summary

Oliver James Associates Ltd. is seeking an experienced AI Agent Engineer to design and build intelligent AI agents and agentic workflows.

You will develop applications using LLMs and Generative AI, enabling agents to interact with APIs, databases and enterprise systems, and to execute actions within defined processes. The role covers experimentation, prompt engineering, integration, deployment, monitoring and optimization to deliver reliable, secure and scalable AI solutions in production

Qualifications

3+ years of professional experience in AI Engineering, ML Engineering or Software Engineering with a strong AI focus.
Hands-on experience building with LLMs and Generative AI.
Experience building AI agents or agentic workflows or LLM-powered apps.
Strong Python development skills and API integration experience.
Familiarity with RAG, embeddings, vector search and semantic retrieval.
Experience with prompt engineering and context management.
Experience with LLM frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph or Semantic Kernel.
Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure.
Understanding of software engineering principles, testing, version control and CI/CD.
Experience taking AI solutions from PoC to production.
Excellent communication with technical and business stakeholders.

Are you an experienced AI Engineer, AI Agent Engineer or Software Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Generative AI?

Do you want to build the next generation of intelligent AI agents that can reason, interact with systems, retrieve information and autonomously support complex business processes?

We are looking for an experienced professional to help design and build AI Agent solutions within a large and technically complex organisation.

This is not a junior or entry-level role. You should already have demonstrable experience building applications with LLMs, Generative AI, agentic workflows or comparable AI technologies.

The Role

As an AI Agent Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing intelligent AI solutions that go beyond traditional chatbots.

You will build AI agents that can understand context, reason over information, use tools and APIs, retrieve relevant data and execute actions within defined processes.

You will work on the complete architecture of agentic solutions, from experimentation and prompt engineering through to integration, deployment, monitoring and optimisation.

The goal is to create AI agents that are not only impressive in a demonstration, but are reliable, secure, scalable and genuinely useful in production environments.

What We Are Looking For

3+ years of relevant professional experience in AI Engineering, Machine Learning Engineering, Software Engineering with a strong AI focus, or a comparable position.
Demonstrable hands-on experience working with LLMs and Generative AI.
Experience building AI agents, agentic workflows or LLM-powered applications.
Strong Python development skills.
Experience working with APIs and integrating AI solutions with external systems.
Solid understanding of RAG, embeddings, vector search and semantic retrieval.
Experience with prompt engineering and context management.
Experience with LLM frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, Semantic Kernel or comparable technologies.
Experience working with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure.
Understanding of software engineering principles, testing, version control and CI/CD.
Experience taking AI solutions from proof of concept into production.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work with both technical and business stakeholders.
