Job summary

Wand AI in Amsterdam is seeking a backend-leaning full-stack engineer to own the backend and data layer of a greenfield, customer-facing product. This is genuine zero-to-one work: you'll make core system-design calls, decide what to build and what to rethink, and then build it with real architectural ownership.

You'll operate in a small, fast-moving environment, ship end-to-end features, and contribute to the front-end as needed.

Qualifications

• Strong backend fundamentals with architectural decision making.
• Full-stack capability to ship features end to end.
• Experience building customer-facing products.
• Tech-agnostic and adaptable across stacks.
• Ownership mindset and startup spirt.
• Heavy use of AI coding tools in workflow.

Responsibilities

• Own backend architecture end to end for a greenfield product.
• Design data structures and system architecture for scale.
• Build and maintain backend services and APIs.
• Contribute to the front-end as needed.
• Take end-to-end ownership and lead architectural decisions.
• Build inside an AI-driven workflow (Claude Code).
• Operate in a small, fast-moving environment with shifting priorities.
