Job summary

Orbisk is seeking a seasoned Data Engineer to own and scale our data pipelines and AI-native infrastructure. You will architect end-to-end data flows, manage storage and processing on GCP, and enable API access for internal tools and customers.

Collaboration with AI and analytics teams will be key as we continue to optimize data-driven decisions in a fast-growing sustainability scale-up. You will work closely with the Amsterdam team, leveraging Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes to ensure robust,

Qualifications

• 6+ years of relevant experience in data engineering, CS, or a related field.
• AI-native approach; leverage AI tools to automate boilerplate and debugging.
• Deep expertise with Python, SQL, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Strong experience with API management, ELT, data warehousing, and BigQuery.
• Infrastructure as code with Terraform; Docker and Kubernetes knowledge.
• Experience with Apache Beam and near real-time streaming architectures.
• Ownership mindset for architecture and performance in production.
• Clear communication and willingness to collaborate across teams.

Responsibilities

• Own the data pipeline from end to end across ingestion, storage, processing, and orchestration.
• Architect for an AI-native future, building data warehouses and APIs for access by customers and internal tools.
• Design and scale on Google Cloud Platform with a focus on reliability and security.
• Drive ELT and warehousing strategy, transforming raw data into clean insights in BigQuery using Python, SQL, and Dataform.
• Collaborate across AI, software, and data analytics teams to enable better models and insights.
• Automate infrastructure using Terraform and containerization to ensure clean, reproducible deployments.
• Stay at the cutting edge of data tech and guide tool and AI integration decisions.
