Our client, a leading technology company, is seeking 5 talented Affective Computing Researchers to join their innovative Amsterdam Research Center. In this role, you will be at the forefront of shaping the next generation of AI systems that can understand not only information, but also human emotion. The Affective Computing Researcher position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to applications that make human-machine interaction more natural, empathic, and engaging.

Technical Must Have Skills:

• PhD or Master’s Degree - in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Affective Computing, or a related field
• Strong Programming Skills - in Python, with solid experience using deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow
• Multimodal Learning Expertise - practical experience or familiarity with multimodal large language models (MLLMs), including applications in speech processing such as emotion detection or expressive synthesis
• Analytical and Problem-Solving Abilities - excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
• Research Publication Track Record - proven track record of research publications in relevant conferences and journals

Technical Nice to Have Skills:

• Hands-on Experience with MLLMs - experience with multimodal data analysis, training, tuning, or evaluating MLLMs, and familiarity with foundation models in multimodal contexts
• Awareness of State-of-the-Art MLLMs - knowledge of the latest architectural advances in MLLMs, such as long-context support, chain-of-thought prompting, or reasoning capabilities
• HCI Principles - familiarity with human-computer interaction (HCI) principles
• Interdisciplinary Research Experience - previous involvement in interdisciplinary research projects
• Ethical Considerations in Affective Computing - knowledge of the ethical considerations in affective computing

• Carry out Research - on affective computing, multimodal learning, and emotion-aware AI
• Design and Evaluate Algorithms - that improve emotional understanding and response
