Job summary

ATG Europe seeks a Mechanical Test Technician to support ESA Test Centre in Noordwijk, The Netherlands. You will help plan, execute and document test campaigns in lab and facilities, ensuring compliance with safety and technical standards.

The role requires a degree in engineering or related field, 4+ years in lab testing/maintenance, and fluency in English. Familiarity with ISO clean-room practices and asset management is a plus. EU work eligibility is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field.
• Minimum 4 years in laboratory testing, calibration, maintenance, or technical operations.
• Experience in controlled lab and clean-room environments; contamination-control knowledge is a plus.
• Experience creating technical documentation such as test reports and calibration certificates.
• Ability to analyze and document test and calibration results.
• Knowledge of calibration, metrology, and measurement principles with lab instruments.
• Experience coordinating with internal teams and external providers.
• Ability to meet security/export-control requirements and obtain clearance when required.
• Familiarity with asset-management systems (e.g., Infor EAM) is an asset.
• Good organization and multi-tasking skills; fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Support planning, preparation, coordination and execution of test campaigns in lab and test centre facilities.
• Assess feasibility of testing activities and define suitable test configurations.
• Perform FoV assessments and support equipment and hardware selection.
• Configure, install and prepare test equipment with engineering and external vendors.
• Coordinate resources, logistics and activities for test campaigns.
• Prepare work schedules and shift plans for testing as required.
• Act as Test Engineer during test execution, monitoring and safety compliance.
• Support TVAC, high-speed recording and measurement campaigns.
• Process and interpret measurement data including IR imagery.
• Prepare technical documentation, reports and recommendations.
• Coordinate maintenance and calibration with external suppliers.
• Serve as technical point of contact between lab users, engineering and service providers.
• Organise equipment logistics including shipment, collection, and calibration tracking.
• Perform in-house calibration following procedures and cycles; generate certificates.
• Support interlaboratory comparisons and proficiency testing activities.
