Job description

A well-established European primary insurer is seeking a qualified or nearly qualified actuary to join its technical pricing team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of pricing models, deliver portfolio analytics, and support underwriting teams across multiple regions.

This role will be based in the Netherlands and will focus primarily on the Dutch market, while also contributing to pricing activities in other key regions. You'll be part of a collaborative, growing function at the heart of a major pricing transformation programme.

What you’ll be doing:

• Supporting the development and refinement of pricing models aligned with internal frameworks.
• Using actuarial techniques and advanced analytics (GLMs, machine learning) to drive insight and improve pricing decisions.
• Working closely with underwriters to support case pricing, renewal analysis, and portfolio monitoring.
• Enhancing performance evaluation through independent review and data-driven recommendations.
• Contributing to the development of analytical tools, including ownership of an emerging ‘Insights Hub’.
• Partnering with other technical teams including reserving, catastrophe modelling, and risk.

What we’re looking for:

• A qualified or nearly qualified actuary with experience in P&C pricing.
• Familiarity with core classes such as Liability, Property, Motor Fleet, and Engineering.
• Strong technical skills in Python or R; experience with GLMs and ML techniques (e.g. boosting, random forests, clustering).
• Proficient in Excel (incl. VBA); SQL and/or SAS is a plus.
• Strong communication skills in English and Dutch.
• Confident working across borders, with an analytical mindset and collaborative approach.
