Job summary

Tilburg University invites applications for a Writing Tutor at the Scriptorium in Tilburg. You will support students with their writing assignments and theses during one-on-one sessions, offering guidance rather than editing texts.

This on-call position provides flexibility, about 20–25 hours per month, and a gross hourly wage of €26.04–€26.51. Applicants should study at Tilburg University, be fluent in English, and commit to at least half a day per week.

Qualifications

• You study at Tilburg University.
• You are fluent in English.
• You have affinity and extensive experience with writing academic texts and are eager to share this knowledge.
• You have good communication and social skills.
• You are available until at least October 1, 2027 (and preferably longer), for at least one half-day per week.
• You have no other employment with Tilburg University.

Responsibilities

• As a writing tutor at the Scriptorium, you assist Tilburg University students with their writing assignments and theses.
• You offer customized support, act as a sounding board, ask critical questions, and point out structural areas of improvement to students.
• You provide strategies to address these aspects and help students gain insight into their own writing process during one-on-one meetings.
• You work with students by appointment; you do not correct texts but help them improve themselves.
