Job summary

Boskalis Abu Dhabi seeks a Technical Superintendent to lead repair and maintenance project preparation, scoping and execution for the fleet. You will coordinate with shipyards, suppliers and internal teams to define technical, safety and commercial requirements and ensure readiness for execution.

Qualifications

• A vocational or higher vocational degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture or a similar technical discipline.
• Experience as a Technical Superintendent, Chief Engineer, Works Manager, Project Manager, Yard Manager, Repair Superintendent, or in a comparable technical role within maritime, dredging, offshore, or ship repair industry.
• Experience preparing and executing dry-dockings, repair and maintenance projects.
• Strong technical knowledge of vessel machinery, systems and equipment.
• Experience working with shipyards, suppliers and contractors.
• Commercial awareness and ability to balance operational requirements with cost-effective solutions.
• Knowledge of safety, environmental and quality standards; good command of written and spoken English.
• Willingness to travel regularly and irregularly to vessels, shipyards and project locations worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, engineer, scope, and develop work packages for repair and maintenance projects; participate in project execution based on complexity and needs.
• Lead planning of maintenance, repair, modification, and docking projects across the fleet with defined scope.
• Conduct vessel inspections and technical assessments to identify repair needs and ensure compliance.
• Develop tender-ready work packages, work orders, technical specs, costs, and schedules.
• Coordinate preparation activities with vessel teams, shipyards, suppliers, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Act as technical focal point during project prep, providing support and guidance to teams.
• Manage interfaces with shipyards and contractors, including quotes, clarifications, and scope alignment.
• Promote safety through risk assessments, JHAs, toolbox talks, and safety leadership.
