Job description

THE POSITION

Do you have an affinity with marine construction and do you see yourself working with state-of-the-art equipment that meets the latest technical standards? Van Oord is looking for 3rd or 4th Engineers for our crew department, preferably with experience on offshore or offshore wind vessels. Your primary responsibility will be to repair and maintain the engine room and technical installations, ensuring that equipment is always available to achieve optimal production on board.

YOUR IMPACT

As a 3rd or 4th Engineer, you will be co-responsible for maintaining technical installations and keeping them in optimal working condition, in close collaboration with the Chief Engineer and 2nd Engineer. You will also ensure compliance with safety, legal maritime, and environmental rules, while adhering to Van Oord's guidelines. Your key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining technical installations on board, together with the Chief Engineer and 2nd Engineer.
  • Optimizing the availability of technical equipment on board.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety equipment and environmental regulations (ISM & ISPS).
  • Consulting daily with the Chief Engineer and 2nd Engineer on tasks.
  • Maintaining the ship's administration in line with Van Oord standards.

ABOUT YOU

You are stress-resistant, flexible, and agile, with excellent decision-making abilities and communication skills. You work well in a team and have a hands-on mentality. You have:

  • A Technical Maritime degree or equivalent practical experience as an engineer on board.
  • Completed relevant STCW courses and readiness to complete Van Oord's required training.
  • The ability to work internationally and communicate fluently in English at a professional level.
