3D Vision Engineer for Aerial Robotics
Location: Aerospace Innovation Hub, Delft, the Netherlands (or remote under suitable conditions). Weekly availability: full-time (5 days/week).
About the company
Fiducial is a young, fast‑growing deep‑tech start‑up at the frontier of autonomy, perception, and defence. We develop software for advanced on‑board UAV situational awareness in military applications, using low‑cost, widely available sensors and computing platforms for scalability. Our team includes engineers from Aerospace Engineering, Computational Science, Robotics, and Computer Graphics, working in the Aerospace Innovation Hub on the TU Delft campus.
Your role
Together with the engineering team you will implement core functionalities of Fiducial Scout, our on‑board UAV situational‑awareness software. Key responsibilities include:
- Working on our in‑house state‑of‑the‑art visual odometry engine.
- Reconstructing 3D flight paths from camera detections.
- Contributing to interception detection, collision avoidance, target acquisition, and GNSS‑denied visual navigation.
What we expect from you
- Experience in 3D computer vision and 3D computer graphics.
- Strong understanding and experience with modern C++.
- Real‑time software development experience (game, simulation, robotics, or embedded).
- Quick learner willing to acquire missing background knowledge independently.
- High degree of autonomy, determination, and grit.
- Bonus: Experience with GPU programming (CUDA, Torch) and graphics pipelines (Vulkan, OpenGL).
- Bonus: Experience with software integration on UAVs.
- Full‑time availability (40 hours/week).
