Job summary

Qualifications

• Skills are typically acquired through successful completion of high school or similar education and 1 year of experience as a Service Operator‑L&P, II.
• Possession of a driving license to operate commercial equipment may be required in certain locations.
• Well Control Accreditation Program may be required (Optional).
• Water survival training may be required.
• Ability to communicate effectively with others is necessary.
• Basic mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) are required.
• Basic reading and writing skills are required.
• Basic computer skills are required.
• Must be knowledgeable on HMS standards and PSL personnel guidelines.
• Promotes safety and environmental awareness and adheres to safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate surface and down hole well logging equipment to record information about subsurface formations.
• Serve as service expert for a specific well logging service.
• Typically work as a one-person crew.
• Obtain job information from customer and apply it to the operation.
• Perform pre-job calculations as required.
• Rig-up and rig-down equipment and perform maintenance on logging tools.
• Assemble and operate equipment at the job site.
• Maintain and inspect equipment; perform preventive maintenance.
• Identify potential sales opportunities and relay to supervisor.
• Communicate pre-job and on-site progress to the customer.
• Assist in resolving invoicing or service irregularities with the customer.
• Provide guidance to less experienced staff.
• Job tasks impact cost containment, efficiency and profitability.
