Warehouse and Transportation Expert (Logistics)

The company has three manufacturing sites and R&D offices in Penang, producing automotive electronics, power tools, and steering systems. A new plant with a testing centre for sensors and semiconductors has been established in Batu Kawan Penang, with construction starting in May 2021 and production beginning in 2023. This expansion aims to meet the growing demand for semiconductors, focusing on the final testing phase of components manufactured in Dresden, Germany. The plant will also include R&D and training facilities.

Job Overview

The expert will coordinate local Semiconductor Warehouses in Malaysia and define material flow and process improvements within the global supply chain (focus on APAC). The role includes supervising transportation activities (focusing on APAC) and leading projects to reduce costs.

Job Description

• Supervise and coordinate operations in the local Finished Goods Warehouse.
• Monitor 3PL performance and evaluate based on KPIs, including regular on-site visits.
• Implement measures to improve 3PL performance, focusing on lead time, quality, and costs.
• Report on 3PL performance and improvement initiatives to Bosch management.
• Analyze semiconductor material flow in APAC and initiate improvement projects.
• Supervise transportation activities in APAC and lead projects to reduce costs and transit time.
• Collaborate closely with the central team in Germany for knowledge exchange.
• Handle customs topics and advise management on strategic decisions, such as relocations.
• Perform additional tasks as instructed by superiors.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Logistics or Management Studies.
• At least 5 years of relevant work experience.
• Preferably, 2 years in leadership and 3 years in project management.
• Strong intercultural communication skills and ability to work in a team environment, with initiative and willingness to learn.
• Proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Office, and supply chain management, with strong planning and analytical skills.
• Assertiveness, conflict resolution skills, high motivation, and project leadership ability.
• Open-minded, adaptable to change, and responsible.
• Willingness to travel, including trips to China and Germany for training.
