A leading company in the hospitality sector is seeking a Waiter/Waitress to join their team in Penang. You will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring a clean environment. 1.0 Job Summary
A Waiter/Waitress is responsible for providing excellent customer service to ensure guests have a memorable dining experience. This role involves taking orders, serving food and beverages, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment for all patrons. Act as a liaison between outlets and its guests by providing customer service, creating an enjoyable experience for everyone involved. To provide personalized and immaculate service guest service. Carry out all duties in accordance with tasks and established rules and policies.
2.0 Duties and Responsibilities
2.1 Customer Service:
2.1.1 Greet and seat customers in a friendly and timely manner.
2.1.2 Provide menus and explain daily specials.
2.1.3 Address customers’ questions about the menu and make recommendations.
2.1.4 Take accurate food and drink orders.
2.2 Order Management:
2.2.1 Relay orders to the kitchen and ensure timely preparation of food.
2.2.2 Serve food and beverages to customers in a professional manner.
2.2.3 Check on customers during their meals to ensure satisfaction and address any issues promptly.
2.3 Payment Processing:
2.3.1 Present bills to customers and process payments.
2.3.2 Handle cash, credit card transactions, and provide accurate change.
2.4 Cleanliness and Maintenance:
2.4.1 Maintain a clean and organized dining area.
2.4.2 Clear tables and reset them for the next guests.
2.4.3 Ensure all service areas are stocked with necessary items.
2.1 Team Collaboration:
2.1.1 Work closely with kitchen staff and other waitstaff to ensure efficient service.
2.1.2 Assist with opening and closing duties, including setting up and breaking down the dining area.
3.0 Preferred Knowledge/Qualification/Experience
Previous experience in a similar role preferred but not required. Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems is a plus. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
