Job summary

Sentinel is recruiting a Vulnerability Management Specialist to strengthen operational security. The role focuses on hands-on vulnerability management at scale within a complex enterprise, coordinating with IT and security teams to drive remediation.

The contractor will operate scanning tools such as Tenable, Qualys, and Rapid7, produce dashboards and reports, and work in a hybrid environment with on-site and remote collaboration.

Qualifications

• Solid background in Computer Science, IT, or Cybersecurity.
• Experience with vulnerability management in a corporate/enterprise environment.
• Familiarity with CVSS scoring and risk-based prioritisation.
• Strong understanding of vulnerability scanning tools and remediation workflows.
• Ability to coordinate across IT and security teams and manage high vulnerability volumes.

Responsibilities

• Operate and manage vulnerability scanning platforms (Tenable, Qualys, Rapid7 or similar).
• Drive end-to-end vulnerability management lifecycle: detection, triage, remediation tracking, reporting.
• Perform risk-based vulnerability assessments using CVSS and business impact considerations.
• Collaborate with IT, cloud, and application teams to coordinate remediation activities.
• Support prioritisation and reduction of large vulnerability backlogs.
• Produce dashboards, metrics, and reports for technical teams and management.
• Act as an interface between security and operational teams.

Vulnerability Management Specialist - Cybersecurity Analyst, Tenable, Qualys, Rapid7

Working Model: Hybrid (50% onsite / 50% remote preferred)

Duration: Until end of year

Start Date: ASAP

This is a contract role which initially runs until the end of the year but likely to extend. The successful person must have their own ltd company or can work as a sole proprietor in Malaysia. The daily rate is negotiable depending on skill set and paid in Euros.

Sentinel is supporting a global enterprise client in securing a Vulnerability Management Analyst to strengthen their operational security capabilities.

This is a hands-on contract role focused on managing vulnerabilities at scale within a complex, enterprise environment. The position requires strong technical knowledge combined with the ability to coordinate effectively with multiple stakeholders across IT and security teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and manage vulnerability scanning platforms (e.g. Tenable, Qualys, Rapid7 or similar)
• Drive the end-to-end vulnerability management lifecycle, including detection, triage, prioritisation, remediation tracking, and reporting
• Perform risk-based vulnerability assessments using CVSS, exploitability, and business impact considerations
• Collaborate with IT, cloud, and application teams to coordinate remediation activities

• Produce dashboards, metrics, and reports for both technical teams and management
• Act as a key interface between security and operational teams

Required Experience

• Solid background in Computer Science, IT, or Cybersecurity
• Proven hands-on experience with vulnerability management in a corporate environment
• Strong knowledge of vulnerability scanning tools (Tenable, Qualys, Rapid7 or similar)
• Good understanding of vulnerability management processes and best practices
• Experience with CVSS scoring and risk-based prioritisation
• Familiarity with operating systems, networking, cloud platforms, and web applications
• Experience working with patching and remediation teams
• Ability to manage high volumes of vulnerabilities effectively
• Experience with reporting, dashboards, and security metrics
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
