Job summary

United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Bhd invites a data analytics professional to join the WB Portfolio Management Unit to develop scorecards and perform portfolio analytics.

You will drive forecasting, risk analysis and regulatory stress testing support, delivering analytics to guide business decisions using Python and BI tools in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires 4–5 years in analytics, strong Excel/PowerPoint, Python or R, and experience with Power BI or Qlik Sense.

Qualifications

• Background in quantitative or technical field, such as Actuarial, Statistics, CS or Software Engineering.
• Approx. 4–5 years of analytics experience; Python experience would be an added advantage.
• Fluency in Excel, PowerPoint, Python or R; familiarity with Power BI and Qlik Sense is welcome.

Responsibilities

• Develops and manages WB scorecard models for capital and bank provisioning.
• Conducts portfolio analytics including Basel EL and RWA analysis.
• Provides forecasting to support business decision-making and planning.
• Performs data analytics including regulatory stress testing required by MAS and BNM.
• Develops dashboards using Power BI or Qlik Sense and supports systemisation initiatives.

Job Description

• WB Portfolio Management Unit (PMU) focuses on Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence
• Develops and manages WB scorecard models for capital and bank provisioning
• Conducts portfolio analytics including trend analysis for early warning signals and business opportunities
• Role is within the PMU Data Analytics team
• Performs data analytics including Basel EL and RWA analysis
• Provides forecasting to support business decision-making and planning
• Conducts regulatory stress testing required by MAS and BNM
• Prepares analytical reports
• Monitors key metrics for capital adequacy assessment, ICAAP and MFRS9 provisioning
• Manages execution, reporting and stakeholder engagement
• Drives continuous process improvements and report automation using Python
• Develops dashboards using Power BI or Qlik Sense
• Supports systemisation initiatives by defining user requirements
• Performs UAT and regression testing for system migration and enhancements
• Requires strong analytical, computational, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Requires proficiency in Power BI, Excel and PowerPoint
• Basic Python knowledge is an advantage
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary and competitive environment

Job Requirements/ Qualifications

• Background in quantitative or technical field (Actuarial, Statistics, Computer Science, Software Engineering).
• Candidate should have about 4 to 5 years of experience in Analytics and Python related would be an added advantage.
• Fluency in Excel, PowerPoint, Python or R would be required. Familiarity in at least one visualization tool such as PowerBI and Qliksense would be welcome.
• Analytical mind and can be trusted with attention to detail.
• Strong team player and understanding of Basel and credit knowledge will be an added advantage.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, willing to learn, must be able to work in team or independently, produce result in accordance to timeline
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Language requirement: Business English moderate to high level.
