About The Department

The Audit function is an independent internal audit team that provides objective assurance and consulting to enhance the Group’s operations. Our goal is to help the Group achieve its strategic objectives through a systematic and disciplined approach to evaluating and improving risk management, control, and governance processes.

Job Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will have experience in a Shariah Audit role; candidates from Shariah Review or Shariah Risk backgrounds are also welcome, with training provided in internal audit methodology. Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and participating in audits with a comprehensive understanding of Islamic banking products and business.
• Assessing operational and Shariah risks and controls, and recommending practical, business-focused solutions to improve risk management, acting as a subject matter expert.
• Driving the adoption of data analytics to enhance audit effectiveness and efficiency.
• Identifying trends, opportunities, and insights derived from data analysis.
• Engaging effectively with senior management and stakeholders.
• Possessing excellent communication skills to influence and negotiate with stakeholders.
• Demonstrating sound judgment, political astuteness, and cultural sensitivity.

Job Requirements

• A recognized degree with at least 7 years of relevant experience in a reputable financial institution or auditing firm.
• Certifications such as CBA, CIA, or equivalent are advantageous.
• Relevant Shariah qualifications are preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Confident and professional presentation skills.
• Interest and aptitude in data analytics and visualization tools.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in Shariah Audit or Shariah Review.
