Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in investment banking or risk management.
• Strong analytical capability in risk evaluation, reporting, and financial markets.
• Deep understanding of BNM and Securities Commission Malaysia regulatory frameworks.
• Proven experience interacting with senior management and governance committees.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams and influence stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Oversee risk monitoring across trading, underwriting, investment and treasury activities.
• Ensure adherence to AHIB and Affin Bank Group risk policies, limits, and regulatory requirements.
• Review and elevate risk exceptions, breaches, and irregularities in a timely manner.
• Strengthen proactive processes for identifying emerging risks.
• Ensure risk governance standards and oversight are in place across the bank.
• Develop and refine risk methodologies, models, and control frameworks.
• Advocate for and embed risk management framework and processes across the bank.
• Effectively engage the board on risk matters and interact with senior management on risks affecting the institution.
• Collaborate with front‑office, operations, finance, legal, and compliance teams for end‑to‑end risk management.
• Lead or support stress‑testing programmes and scenario analyses.
• Evaluate potential impacts under adverse market conditions.
• Recommend mitigation or contingency actions based on stress-test findings.
