Job summary

Great Eastern in Malaysia is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of VMware Cloud Foundation infrastructure through automation, monitoring, and proactive problem solving. You will design, implement, and maintain VCF components across multiple clusters.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, computer engineering, or related field.
• A Master’s degree or relevant certificates (ITIL, TOGAF, Cloud certifications or VMware VCP) are a plus.
• 15+ years of IT infrastructure experience with strong VMware VCF solutioning and deployment experience.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation tools such as Python/PowerShell, Ansible and Terraform.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain VCF infrastructure to meet organizational needs.
• Manage and troubleshoot VCF resource availability across ESXi clusters and large VM counts.
• Integrate backup services and perform image/file level backups with NetBackup.
• Perform health checks and monitor VCF metrics using vROPS, vCenter, and Dynatrace.
• Ensure security remediation and MAS/BNC compliance, with adherence to industry trends.
• Develop SOPs for VCF operations including DR plans and uptime records.
• Apply updates/patches to ESXi and vSphere components; collaborate with security teams.
• Lead VCF-related projects; coordinate with vendors and project delivery teams.
