Job summary

Car Medic Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is hiring a hands-on Videographer and Video Editor to manage the video-production process from concept to final delivery. You will create short-form content featuring customer stories, educational topics, events and campaigns, and work closely with our Marketing Manager.

This on-site role requires you to shoot at Kajang and Semenyih locations, edit for TikTok, Instagram Reels, Facebook, and YouTube Shorts, and to direct staff and customers on camera while

Qualifications

• Portfolio or showreel showing filming and editing ability.
• Experience producing short-form social media content.
• Proficiency in Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve or CapCut.
• Understanding of camera angles, lighting, and audio.
• Ability to create hooks, pacing and captions for short videos.
• Comfort directing staff and customers on camera.

Responsibilities

• Develop original video ideas based on campaigns and trends.
• Prepare scripts, storyboards and shot lists.

Job description

Car Medic is a Department of Environment-licensed Authorised Automotive Treatment Facility (AATF). We help vehicle owners manage end-of-life vehicles through proper deregistration, towing and disposal with a Certificate of Destruction.

We are expanding our in-house marketing team and looking for a hands‑on content producer who can turn our vehicle‑disposal operations into engaging and informative video content.

About the Role

As our Videographer & Video Editor, you will manage the video-production process from concept to final delivery.

You will create short‑form content featuring customer stories, educational topics, events and marketing campaigns. This is a hands‑on role for someone who can generate ideas, operate a camera and edit content independently. You will report to the Marketing Manager and collaborate closely with our Graphic Designer & Content Creator.

Content Planning

Develop original video ideas based on campaigns, content pillars and current social‑media trends

Prepare scripts, storyboards and shot lists

Contribute new content ideas during weekly planning sessions

Plan each shoot efficiently so that footage can be repurposed into multiple videos

Filming and Production

Film short‑form content at our Kajang and Semenyih locations

Capture vehicle‑disposal processes, behind‑the‑scenes footage, customer testimonials and events

Operate smartphones, cameras, gimbals, microphones and basic lighting equipment

Guide employees, customers and other non‑professional talents during filming

Maintain organised footage and production files

Video Editing

Edit platform‑ready videos for TikTok, Instagram Reels, Facebook and YouTube Shorts

Handle cuts, transitions, colour correction, sound design, captions and basic motion graphics

Create shorter variations and platform‑specific adaptations from longer footage

Ensure every video follows Car Medic’s brand and quality standards

Deliver content according to the agreed production schedule

AI‑Assisted Production

Use or explore AI tools to enhance ideation, storyboarding, visual effects and video production

Experiment with tools such as Runway, Kling, Pika, Sora or equivalent platforms

Recommend useful new tools and practical ways to incorporate them into the content workflow

Requirements

Portfolio or showreel demonstrating both filming and video‑editing ability

Practical experience producing short‑form social‑media content

Proficiency in at least one primary editing platform, such as Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve or CapCut

Good understanding of camera angles, lighting, composition, framing and audio

Ability to create effective hooks, pacing and captions for short‑form videos

Comfortable directing employees, customers and other non‑actors on camera

Able to manage a project independently from concept through final delivery

Good command of Bahasa Malaysia and English

Willing to work on‑site in Kajang and Semenyih

Possess own transport

Added Advantages

After Effects or motion‑graphics skills

Photography and photo‑editing ability

Drone‑operation experience

Experience in automotive, lifestyle or social‑media content

What Success Looks Like

Consistently producing engaging, platform‑appropriate content

Delivering approximately 20–30 video outputs per month, including original videos, cutdowns and platform adaptations

Completing work according to the agreed content calendar

Turning each shoot into multiple usable pieces of content

Contributing creative ideas instead of waiting for detailed instructions

Improving content quality and performance based on feedback and results

RM300 monthly performance incentive, subject to achievement of performance targets
