Who we are
The Central Data Office (CDO) at Khazanah plays a key role in enabling trusted data, reporting, and analytics across the organisation. It ensures that data are managed in a consistent and coordinated way, providing a strong foundation for reliable analysis and informed decision-making. By joining this team, you will contribute to building the data and analytical capabilities that support strategic decision making in Khazanah.
Your role
Your role will focus on implementing and advancing data governance capabilities, as well as ensuring Khazanah’s data governance practices remain active, relevant, and embedded in day-to-day operations. You will work closely with key stakeholders across investments, finance and technology to align these governance efforts with Khazanah’s objectives.
- Design and lead the implementation of data governance policies and processes, ensuring alignment with the objectives of Khazanah’s data programme and supporting its longer-term data, AI, and technology vision.
- Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and reliability of data used in investment reporting, analytics, and AI-driven workflows.
- Manage the development, update, and use of key data governance artefacts, including policy registers, metadata catalogues, lineage documentation, validation rules, and issues logs. Include structured and unstructured data assets in the metadata strategy to improve searchability and traceability.
- Lead efforts to identify, document, and resolve data quality issues. Review control effectiveness, promote root-cause analysis, and coordinate improvements across systems and workflows. Over time, extend controls to unstructured data to support consistency, tagging, and integration with structured sources.
- Support data governance enablement within live projects and data-related initiatives by identifying controls, documenting risks, and validating that governance requirements are met. Advise on data readiness for AI/ML use cases, including data labelling, completeness, and contextual integrity.
- Design and manage the reporting of governance metrics and indicators, identify gaps, and support data-driven enhancements.
- Act as a trusted contact point for interpreting data governance policies, resolving implementation challenges, and aligning differing stakeholder views into workable solutions.
- Develop onboarding materials, awareness guides, and refresher content to help teams apply data governance principles in their day-to-day work. Reinforce key governance responsibilities during system rollouts, process changes, or role transitions to support consistent adoption.
- Maintain and document working knowledge of organisational data flows, architecture, and integration points to support governance decisions. Review and assess the impact on governance from changes to data system and flows.
- Stay informed of data and AI governance trends, emerging tools, and best practice to ensure governance policies and practices remain relevant and fit for purpose.
- Assist in resource planning, budget tracking, or vendor engagement related to governance tools or platforms.
