Job summary

A prominent educational institution in Kuala Lumpur seeks a high-level leader for the position of Vice Chancellor or equivalent. This role entails overseeing academic achievement assessments, ensuring accreditation with relevant bodies, and leading institutional strategic initiatives. Candidates must have a PhD/DBA and extensive experience in academia, demonstrating strong leadership and management skills while exhibiting integrity and high performance standards. Excellent communication in English is mandatory.

Job description
Responsibilities
  • Identify institutional benchmark data to be maintained over time.
  • Develop processes to assess student academic achievement, oversee campus-wide assessment activities, and prepare periodic reports for Board of Governors.
  • Facilitate activities to ensure the Institution’s continued accreditation with relevant regulatory authorities, and act as the institution’s representative in supporting departments and divisions in their efforts to secure or maintain professional accreditation for academic programmes.
  • Lead the periodic updating of the institution’s strategic plan and prepare and present reports outlining progress in achieving strategic initiatives.
Requirements
  • Possess PhD/DBA in relevant field.
  • A minimum of 15–20 years of experience in academia, with 3–5 years as Vice Chancellor/Deputy/Vice President, Academic.
  • A proven track record of leadership and strong management skills.
  • Commitment to high performance and continuous improvement.
  • High level of integrity with effective interpersonal skills.
  • Exhibits excellent command of both written and oral English.
