Job summary

IT STEP Academy Kuala Lumpur is seeking a passionate Vibe Coding Tutor to teach AI-powered development workflows. You’ll guide students in building real-world apps using AI assistants like Claude, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, and more.

Responsibilities include delivering 2-hour sessions, teaching frontend/backend concepts, APIs, databases, and Git workflows, and mentoring learners through ideation to deployment. A diploma or degree in CS/IT is preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related fields.
• Strong understanding of software development principles.
• Experience with JavaScript, Python, TypeScript, C#, Java or similar.
• Practical experience using AI coding assistants such as listed tools.

• Deliver engaging Vibe Coding and AI-assisted development classes (2 hours per session).
• Conduct classes 2 times per week with flexible scheduling.
• Teach students to build websites, apps, dashboards, automations, and MVPs using AI tools.
• Guide students from idea creation to deployment and project development.
• Explain AI-assisted programming concepts including prompt engineering, architecture, debugging, APIs, and Git workflows.
• Support students individually and in groups; prepare materials and assignments.
• Track progress and provide constructive feedback; maintain an engaging learning environment.

About the Role

IT STEP Academy Kuala Lumpur is looking for a passionate and innovative Vibe Coding Tutor to teach students how to build software using modern AI-powered development workflows.

As a Vibe Coding Tutor, you will guide students in creating real-world applications using AI coding assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Cursor AI, Windsurf, Bolt.new, Lovable, Replit AI, and other AI-powered development platforms.

Instead of focusing only on traditional coding methods, you will teach students how to transform ideas into working applications through AI-assisted coding, effective prompting, software planning, debugging, and project development.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging Vibe Coding and AI-assisted development classes (2 hours per session).

• Conduct classes 2 times per week with flexible scheduling.

• Teach students how to build websites, applications, dashboards, automations, and MVP projects using modern AI development tools.

• Guide students from idea creation, planning, coding, testing, and deployment.

• Teach AI-assisted programming concepts including:

  • Prompt engineering for developers

  • Software planning and architecture

  • Debugging and optimization

  • Front-end and back-end development concepts

  • APIs, databases, and Git workflows

• Support students individually and in groups during project development.

• Prepare lesson materials, coding exercises, and project assignments.

• Track student progress and provide constructive feedback.

• Maintain an engaging, practical, and project-based learning environment.

• Stay updated with the latest AI development tools and technologies.

• Collaborate with the academic team to improve curriculum quality.

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related fields (or equivalent practical experience).

• Strong understanding of software development principles.

• Experience with programming languages such as JavaScript, Python, TypeScript, C#, Java, or similar.

• Practical experience using AI coding assistants such as:

  • ChatGPT

  • Claude

  • Cursor AI

  • GitHub Copilot

  • Windsurf

  • Replit AI

  • Bolt.new

  • Lovable

• Familiarity with web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Vue, or similar is an advantage.

• Understanding of APIs, databases, Git, and cloud deployment is preferred.

• Strong communication and presentation skills.

• Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to beginners.

• Passion for teaching, mentoring, and helping students succeed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous teaching, tutoring, or mentoring experience.

• Experience building AI-powered applications, websites, or SaaS products.

• Experience with prompt engineering and AI workflow automation.

• Portfolio or GitHub showcasing personal or professional projects.

• Knowledge of Agile development and software product lifecycle.
