Job summary

A technology solutions provider in Kuala Lumpur seeks a skilled Linux Systems Administrator. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Computer Science, over 2 years of experience managing Linux servers, VMware, and performs server operations like setup, upgrades, and troubleshooting. Good communication skills in English are essential, and familiarity with Cantonese is a plus. Willingness to work night shifts and on public holidays is required.

Qualifications

• More than 2 years relevant working experience in Linux Servers.
• Holder of ITIL Foundation or above is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Identifying, diagnosing, and resolving escalated incidents in Linux/Unix Server platforms.
• Perform regular server operations such as setup, upgrade, monitoring.
• Responsible for system troubleshooting and performance tuning.

Job description

Qualifications

• Bachelor in Computer Science or related discipline;
• Holder of ITIL Foundation or above is a plus
• More than 2 years relevant working experiences in Linux Servers, VMware, x86 servers and storage

Responsibilities

• Identifying, diagnosing, and resolving the escalated incident in Linux/Unix Server platforms
• Escalated the case to L3 Infrastructure/application team if need
• Perform the regular server operations such as setup, upgrade, patches deployment, monitoring and health checks, backup and restore etc
• Responsible for system troubleshooting and performance turning
• Prepare and maintain technical documentations
• Providing support on issues related to servers and storage
• Liaise with external vendors for IT Server operations and maintenance
• Willing to work night shift and on public holidays
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English, and Cantonese is a plus
