Job summary

Manulife Insurance Malaysia is seeking a seasoned Life Underwriter to ensure underwriting accuracy up to conferred authority and within the agreed TAT. You’ll contribute to process improvements and collaborate with cross-functional teams in a hybrid work setting.

Applicants should have a science/biomedical/nursing degree, at least 8 years in life underwriting, and strong risk assessment and communication skills to influence business outcomes and maintain high-quality standards.

Qualifications

• University degree in Science, Biomedical Science or Nursing.
• Minimum 8 years of underwriting experience in life insurance.
• Excellent technical skills in risk selection and issue resolution.
• Strong communication and influencing ability.

Responsibilities

• Act as backup for other team members when needed.
• Involve and perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and projects.

• Other administrative duties as assigned by the Head of Department (HOD).

• Prepare reports and Standard Operating Procedures(SOPs)
• Other administrative duties and assigned duties as and when required by the Head of Department (HOD)

Required Qualifications:

• University degree is preferably in Science, Biomedical Science or Nursing
• At least 8 years of underwriting experience in life insurance
• Excellent technical skills in risk selection while routinely identifies issues and begins implementing resolutions
• Communication skills; consistently communicates the vision, direction and performance of the business with great impact

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with multiple product lines
• Data analytics and portfolio management experience is an added advantage
