Job summary

TikTok is seeking a Data Understanding Specialist (Turkish speaking) to bridge data collection, model development, and project success. You will ensure accurate application of structure to unstructured Turkish data (video, images, text) to support world-class ML solutions, collaborating with ML engineers and labellers.

The role requires fluency in Turkish and English, strong data interpretation skills, and experience in coordinating cross-functional projects within a data environment.

Qualifications

• Fluency in Turkish is required as the role requires communication with Turkish markets & stakeholders, as well as fluency in English as it is the working language
• Proficiency in data interpretation and analysis; Interest in AI and Machine Learning concepts, particularly in the field of data annotation
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for clear and effective communication with both requestors and labellers
• Some experience in project management with organizational skills to manage multiple tasks concurrently, preferably in a data environment
• Demonstrates learning agility with strong problem solving skills

Responsibilities

• Define clear and unambiguous labelling rules for Turkish-content in the Turkish market to ensure high quality labelling output
• Simplify labelling rules to reduce contextual knowledge for labelling while providing training to Turkish labellers if needed
• Ensure that labelling rules meet model training requirements for Turkish market
• Monitor and review quality of labelled data for the Turkish market
• Timely root-cause identification of quality issues for remediation
• Identify opportunities and areas of improvement to optimize delivery
• Deliver projects on time and on target flagging any key risks that arise
• Deep dive into issues that arise during project lifecycle with solutions that ensure delivery
• Manage Turkish-speaking stakeholders to drive transparency across the data delivery pipeline
